Bio

Paul Schoen, typically referred to as Paulie, is a New Orleans-based Engineer and Producer with more than a decade of experience. He has handled recording and mixing duties for over a dozen international touring acts and has contributed to three Grammy-nominated albums. Schoen has had the privilege to contribute to recordings by artists such as U2, Ringo Starr, Big Freedia, Trombone Shorty, Joan Jett, Juvenile, Tank & The Bangaz, Gov’t Mule, Sheila E., Smoky Robinson, Ivan Neville, New Breed Brass Band, James Andrews & the Crescent City Allstars, and Dumpstaphunk.

Schoen attended NOCCA high school and Loyola University New Orleans, which both host world-class recording studio facilities. He also furthered his study by enrolling in a Recording Academy summer workshop in 2011 and internships at Fudge in 2010 and The Parlor studios in 2016. Schoen moved to Seattle, Washington from 2017-2019 to teach a Recording Arts class at Garfield High School, with support from Microsoft & the Quincy Jones Foundation.

Moving back to NOLA in 2020, Schoen began work as an in-house engineer for Trombone Shorty’s Buckjump Studio. This enabled him to quickly rejoin the recording scene, serving high-profile clientele with stunning results. Possessing first-class skills and lifetime dedication to all things audio, it’s no wonder why so many studios have entrusted Schoen with a set of keys.
